What people are saying…

  • “I’ve seen many healthcare professionals over the years dealing with chronic pain from medical conditions, but my many acupuncture treatments with Sarah stand out because she understands the intricate relationship between emotional health and chronic pain. Her deep knowledge, careful  listening, and genuine compassion mean I always leave with both physical relief and a greater sense of emotional balance.

Sarah has helped me realize that healing isn’t just about relieving pain – it’s about understanding what my body is trying to tell me. Her insights, expertise, and ability to listen have been as healing as the acupuncture treatments themselves.  She is truly an exceptional person and I will always be grateful for the tremendous difference she has made in my life.”

  • “If you are unsure about the healing nature of acupuncture, Sarah will make you a believer. She gets to know you as a person, because she believes that it's important to treat the whole person and not just their symptoms. That makes a huge difference. I always leave feeling much better than when I came in. Acupuncture is a great natural way to relieve stress and pain, and this is the best place to get it.”

  • “I attended a community acupuncture session with Sarah and it was a really powerful experience, both physically & psychologically. I had only experienced acupuncture individually before, so I wasn’t sure how community acupuncture would feel different and I was a little nervous to share the room with people I didn’t know. Sarah immediately made me feel at ease by introducing everyone to each other, helping us find the seats that felt most comfortable and explaining exactly how the process would go. She invited us to check in with our bodies and really settle into the space, which was so helpful and immediately calming. By the time she came around with needles, I felt totally relaxed and present. Sarah explained that the needles would go in our ears and we could have as many (or as few) needles inserted as we wanted. I especially liked how she helped me through the process by inviting me to breathe in and take a deep breath out whenever a needle was inserted. She also waited between each needle to observe, check in, and make sure I was ready before continuing. It felt really empowering to know I was in charge of the pace of the needling. If you’re nervous about needles, or have never tried acupuncture, I think Sarah is the kind of practitioner that really understands those fears and uses an approach that can help alleviate them so you don’t miss out on this powerful healing.

All through the experience I really felt that Sarah cared about each of us and especially that we all felt safe. I was amazed at how much I felt in my body as I sat quietly with the needles in my ears. I could feel energy coursing through the different channels and because the space was so relaxed, I could also relax, allowing things to flow where they have been stuck. I even felt a deep release in the front of my chronically tight neck, which was a nice surprise! After about 15 minutes, my mind also seemed to open up and I had a vision of a solution to a problem I’d been working with all week, which I was really grateful for. Even though I’d been nervous, it was actually very nice to share the room with other people. There is something quite powerful and sweet about hearing other people breathe and shift in their seats. Sarah’s quiet whispers with other patients was very soothing and I felt her presence with each of us the entire time, even as we all sat in silence. One person wanted their needles removed sooner than the rest of us and again, I thought it was really cool that everyone was in charge of their experience. Sarah came around and removed the needles for the rest of us after about 45 minutes or an hour (I lost track of time!) and I felt incredibly calm. It was as if I’d been in deep meditation. I was also really hungry, which is amazing and pretty rare for me, because I struggle with sluggish digestion. When I got home later that afternoon, I took a restorative 2 hour nap, which I definitely needed. If you’re curious about acupuncture, community acupuncture, or are working within a budget, I highly recommend visiting Sarah for this offering. I could clearly feel the way her training in somatic experiencing and her understanding of trauma showed up in how she led and treated us.”

  • “I had a virtual session with Sarah. She held such a caring and present space, my walls fell down. Her attunement was so precise she could witness the part of me no one else could. As an overwhelmed mother it brought me to tears and I finally had space to attend to me and only me. It was such an eye opening experience and I can’t wait to do it again!”

  • “I have found acupuncture to be a transformative experience. I initially sought treatment for joint pain in my hands - and while acupuncture swiftly resolved this issue, it has also had an unexpectedly profound impact on my entire physical and emotional wellbeing. Through acupuncture have come to a place of balance - emotional balance harmonized with balance in my body's energy level, digestion and mood. Through acupuncture, I have come to a place of peace and deeper understanding about many aspects of my life - I feel as though I am being given the freedom to become myself.

Sarah has keen insight, and is an intuitive and gentle practitioner - getting treatment from her has been one of the best decisions I've ever made for my body and soul."

  • “Being in the treatment room with you feels like being seen for who I truly am. Through our work together I have come to trust myself, rely on myself, and love myself more fully. I feel so much stronger and more capable than any time before in my adult life. I feel as though you have given me back the right to be myself fully and without guilt or shame.”

    -L.R.

  • “I’ve had real good time interacting with people yesterday and today (which is rare for me cause I do not like and avoid situations where I have to meet new people) and I'm really amazed at the changes that I'm starting to experience and that your needles and the awesome smelling plant can help bring about this difference in me is quite extraordinary. I have to say that I was a bit skeptical at first, actually very skeptical, and now well I'm very intrigued. So thank you.”

  • “I had never tried acupuncture before and did not know anyone who had but I knew Sarah well and was open to a new possibility. I can say without exaggeration that this was one of the best decisions I have ever made for myself. We focused on what I needed and what she knew we could change. I quickly saw a significant change in my bladder control issues and was shocked at the difference. Also in dealing with personal stress and anxiety I now find myself firmly rooted and trusting in myself to handle difficulties that have arisen in my life since I began treatment. I am liberated. I have trust in my strengths and decisions now to do what I was previously holding back from."

  • “Sarah creates a space where you immediately feel safe, heard, and genuinely cared for. She takes the time to understand the whole person—not just the symptoms—and brings an incredible combination of skill, compassion, and presence to every session.

What makes her practice unique is how thoughtfully she integrates acupuncture with Somatic Experiencing. Her calm, grounded approach helps regulate the nervous system while addressing both physical pain and emotional stress. You never feel rushed, and she explains things in a way that helps you feel comfortable and involved in your own healing.

Whether you’re dealing with chronic pain, anxiety, trauma, stress, or simply looking to improve your overall well-being, I can’t recommend Sarah highly enough. She is deeply committed to her patients, and truly cares about helping people heal. Falls Church is incredibly fortunate to have someone with her level of knowledge, kindness, and integrity serving the community.”
